Creative home-base for McCoy Rigby is the
beautiful La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts,
one of Southern California's top legitimate theaters, where the
company embarks on its twelfth season of producing award-winning
plays, musicals, concerts and special events. Each season has
offered an eclectic mix of dramas, musicals and comedies ranging
from beloved American classics ("Annie Get Your Gun,"
"Guys and Dolls," "The Wizard of Oz," "The
Gin Game," "The Rainmaker," "Same Time, Next
Year," "The Unsinkable Molly Brown," "The
Lion in Winter," "A Grand Night for Singing,"
"To Kill a Mockingbird," "Evita," "Grease,"
"My Fair Lady," "My Way," "Smokey Joe's
Café," "Jesus Christ Superstar," and "Peter
Pan") to contemporary fare On the other coast, McCoy Rigby's 35th anniversary production of "Peter Pan" starring Cathy Rigby on Broadway garnered two Tony nominations, and the company's second revival of the show in 1997 earned another Tony nomination and accolades as it toured nationwide. The production came home to La Mirada Theatre in 2000, where it was filmed for the Arts & Entertainment (A&E) network Thanksgiving holiday special. Cathy's "Peter Pan" is now available on video and DVD, and the soundtrack is available on tape and CD.
Cathy completed a starring role as the
"Cat in the Hat" in the touring production of "Seussical
the Musical" and now she is reprising her role as Peter
in McCoy Rigby's 2004-2006 touring production of "Peter
Pan." Cathy and Tom are currently Producing Artistic Directors
for the touring production of "Peter Pan" and previous
touring productions such as, "Jesus Christ Superstar"
and "Peter Pan." Plans for future touring productions
are also in the works for McCoy Rigby Entertainment. The number of major theatrical awards garnered
by McCoy Rigby Entertainment includes 2 Ovation Awards, 25 Drama-Logues,
3 Backstage Garland Awards and 3 Tony nominations, 19 Ovation
nominations and 8 NAACP award nominations for the touring production
of "Jesus Christ Superstar." In addition, the Academy
of Television Arts & Sciences awarded McCoy Rigby Entertainment
an Emmy for Best Scene Design as part of four nominations for
the A&E network production of "Peter Pan." |
